What is the nature of the blessing you seek? Is it to bless a newborn, a deck of Tarot cards, a business endeavor? Based on its application, a blessing formula may contain ingredients—essential oils, scents, herbs, curios—specific to a single goal; therefore an oil to bless a newborn may be fresh olive oil over which Psalm 127 has been read aloud; a Tarot deck blessing may include botanicals used to induce psychic power, such as star anise, bay leaf, heliotrope, wormwood, and so forth. Below you will find recipes for general blessing, formulas that may be used for any situation. If you wish to emphasize a purpose, such as for your business venture, then one of the following blessing formulas may be blending with another mixture such as Money Come To Me or Crown Of Success. When we look at what ingredients go into a good blessing oil we are looking for items that promote positive conditions, such as fertility, growth, and things associated with the divine from whatever spiritual source inspires you. This later category can be broad, especially if you were to work with curios, such as the medal of your patron saint or a screw you found before it could puncture your tire. Since we are dealing here with oil recipes, we are engaged mainly with essential and fragrance oils, as well as carrier oils. Many blessing oils in the Conjure tradition will use olive oil as a carrier, owing to its prominent Biblical use, to which other oils or herbs are added. A carrier oil serves to dilute a formula, which is suggested for oils that might otherwise cause damage to whatever it is applied to, such as skin or items being blessed. You may add any of the following mixtures to a carrier oil should you choose, and the choice is your whether to use olive oil, or a less scented carrier such as grapeseed or almond. How you use this oil, whether to dress a candle or anoint your feet for a difficult journey, is up to you.

Rosemary 1 part
Frankincense 2 parts
Bergamot 3 parts
Presentation is a key ingredient in magic, so those of you who wish to add beauty to your oil may wish to include rosemary needles (crushed in a mortar and pestle, as stabbing needles are antithetic to blessings), or rosemary blossoms, frankincense tears, and slivers of orange peel.

Blend equal parts of the following oils:
Frankincense
Benzoin
Rose
You may choose to include frankincense tears and bits of benzoin, as well as rose petals. Rose essential oil is cost prohibitive for some, who may instead use a fragrant oil, in which case the addition of rose petals serves as an authentic way of utilizing the power of rose.

Many blessing recipes include elements that are also used for cleansing, the idea being that the removal of negativity is essential in order for positive power to replace it. For this reason we often find astringent ingredients being used, such as eucalyptus, rosemary, sage, and so forth. The following is an example of such.
2 drams of Camphor oil
2 drams of Eucalyptus
4 drams of Vetiver
6 drams of Frankincense
6 drams of Sandalwood
This blend works especially well for fumigating a room when added to an aromatherapy burner.

Three Kings Blessing Oil
Owing its origins to the gifts bestowed by the magi, Frankincense and Myrrh are often used for blessing work. Since both are resinous, their thickness is best lessoned by mixing them into a carrier. For this recipe we will mix a quarter fluid ounce of each into a full ounce of jojoba oil. This may be stored in a gold colored jar, or you may mix in flecks of gold foil or glitter.
